Connect to Zendesk and automate support tickets
Zendesk Integration
The Zendesk integration allows you to automate your customer support operations directly from Nodes2Cloud.
How to get credentials
To use the Zendesk node, you need an API Token from your Zendesk account.
- Go to your Zendesk Admin Center.
- Navigate to Apps and integrations → APIs → Zendesk API.
- Enable Token Access if it isn't already enabled.
- Click Add API token, give it a name (e.g., "Nodes2Cloud"), and copy the generated token.
- In Nodes2Cloud, create a new Zendesk credential using your Zendesk agent email address and the API token you just copied.
1. Zendesk: Create Ticket
What the node does
This node creates a new support ticket in your Zendesk account. You can specify the subject, body, requester, priority, and map custom fields.
Options / Fields
- Credential: The Zendesk credential you configured.
- Subdomain: Your Zendesk workspace subdomain (the
acmepart ofacme.zendesk.com). - Subject: The subject line or title of the ticket.
- Ticket Body: The initial description or comment of the ticket.
- Requester Email: (Optional) The email of the person requesting support. If left blank, the ticket will be created on behalf of the agent who owns the credential.
- Requester Name: (Optional) The name of the person requesting support.
- Priority: (Optional) Set the ticket priority to Urgent, High, Normal, or Low.
- Status: (Optional) Set the initial ticket status (e.g., New, Open, Pending).
- Type: (Optional) Set the ticket type (e.g., Question, Incident, Problem, Task).
- Tags: (Optional) A comma-separated list of tags to apply to the ticket (e.g.,
bug, priority_user). - Group ID: (Optional) Assign the ticket to a specific group by its ID.
- Assignee ID: (Optional) Assign the ticket to a specific agent by their ID.
- Custom Fields: (Optional) A key-value map to set Zendesk custom field values. Use the numeric Custom Field ID from Zendesk as the Key, and your desired data as the Value.
How to set it up
- Select your Zendesk Credential and type in your workspace Subdomain.
- Provide the Subject and Ticket Body.
- (Optional) If you are creating a ticket on behalf of a customer, fill out the Requester Email and Requester Name.
- Set any optional tags, priorities, or custom fields as needed by your Zendesk setup.
- The output will be the raw Zendesk API response containing the newly created ticket details (e.g.,
ticket.id).
Common Troubleshooting
- Invalid Subdomain Error: Make sure you only provide the subdomain itself (e.g.,
acme), not the full URL (https://acme.zendesk.com). - Authentication failed / 401 Unauthorized: Double-check that your credential uses an agent's email address and a valid API token. Also, ensure that "Token Access" is turned on in your Zendesk API settings.
- Requester not working as expected: If the
Requester Emaildoesn't match an existing user, Zendesk will automatically create a new user profile. Ensure the email provided is valid. - Custom fields aren't updating: Ensure the "Key" in the Custom Fields map is the exact numeric ID from Zendesk, not the human-readable name of the field.
