Automate your Monday.com boards, items, and workflows

Monday.com Integration

The Monday.com integration allows you to fully automate your work OS, managing boards, groups, items, and columns directly from Nodes2Cloud workflows.

How to get credentials

Monday.com requires a Personal API Token.

  1. Log in to your Monday.com account.
  2. Click your avatar in the bottom left corner and select Developers.
  3. Go to Developer Center → My Access Tokens.
  4. Click Show to reveal your token and copy it. (If you don't have one, you may need to request an Admin to generate one).
  5. In Nodes2Cloud, create a new Monday.com credential and paste the token.

Operations Available

Monday.com operations follow their hierarchical structure: Boards contain Groups, Groups contain Items (rows), and Items have Columns (cells).

1. Boards

  • Board: List: Get all boards in your workspace.
  • Board: Get, Create, Archive: Manage specific boards.

2. Groups

  • Group: List: Get all groups within a specific board.
  • Group: Create, Delete: Manage groups.

3. Columns

  • Column: List: Get the column definitions for a specific board.
  • Column: Create: Add a new column to a board.

4. Items (Rows)

  • Item: List: Retrieve items from a board or group.
  • Item: Get: Retrieve a single item by its ID.
  • Item: Create: Add a new item to a board/group.
  • Item: Update: Change the column values for a specific item. Note: updating column values requires passing a JSON object mapping column IDs to their new values.
  • Item: Move: Move an item to a different group.
  • Item: Delete: Remove an item.

5. Updates (Comments)

  • Update: Create: Post an update (comment) on a specific item.
  • Update: List: Retrieve all updates for an item.

Common Troubleshooting

  • Updating Column Values Fails: Monday.com requires the column values to be a stringified JSON object. Ensure you are formatting the values correctly according to the column type (e.g., Status columns expect different JSON shapes than Text columns). See the Monday.com API Documentation for specific formats.
  • Missing Column IDs: When mapping data to columns, you must use the underlying Column ID (e.g., status_1), not the human-readable Column Title. You can use the Column: List action to find these IDs.
