Automate tasks and issues in Jira
Jira Integration
The Jira integration allows you to automate issue creation, search, and status updates within your Atlassian ecosystem.
How to get credentials
Jira uses an API Token associated with your Atlassian account.
- Go to your Atlassian Account Security settings.
- Click Create API token and copy the string.
- In Nodes2Cloud, create a new Jira credential. Provide your Email address, your API Token, and your Jira Domain (e.g.,
your-company.atlassian.net).
Available Actions
- Issue: Create: Creates a new Jira issue (requires Project Key and Issue Type).
- Issue: Search: Uses JQL (Jira Query Language) to search for issues.
- Issue: Add Comment: Adds a comment to an existing issue.
- Issue: Get: Retrieves the details of a single issue by its Key (e.g.,
PROJ-123). - Issue: Update: Modifies the fields of an existing issue.
Common Troubleshooting
- Jira Issue Types / Custom Fields: When creating or updating a Jira issue, ensure you are passing the exact string required by your Jira schema. Custom fields often require the internal
customfield_100XXidentifier rather than the display name.
