Google Workspace Integration

Nodes2Cloud provides deep integration with Google Workspace, allowing you to automate emails, manage spreadsheets, organize files, and handle calendar events.

How to get credentials

Most Google Workspace nodes use OAuth 2.0 or a Google Service Account.

  1. In Nodes2Cloud, add a Google node to your workflow.
  2. Select Create New Credential.
  3. Choose the OAuth method and click Sign in with Google.
  4. Grant the requested permissions for the specific app (Gmail, Sheets, etc.).
  1. Go to the Google Cloud Console.
  2. Create a new project and enable the APIs you need (e.g., Google Sheets API, Gmail API).
  3. Go to IAM & Admin → Service Accounts and create a service account.
  4. Generate a new JSON key for the service account and download it.
  5. In Nodes2Cloud, create a new Google credential using the Service Account method and paste the JSON contents. (Note: Service accounts have their own email address. You must explicitly share your Google Sheets/Folders with this service account email for it to access them).

1. Gmail

What the node does

The Gmail nodes allow you to send emails and trigger workflows when new emails arrive.

Sub-Nodes / Actions

  • Gmail: Send Email: Sends an email. You can specify the To, Subject, Text Body, and HTML Body.
  • Gmail: On New Email (Trigger): Triggers a workflow when a new email arrives matching specific search criteria (e.g., from:[email protected]).

2. Google Sheets

What the node does

Read, write, and manipulate data within Google Sheets.

Sub-Nodes / Actions

  • Google Sheets: Read Row(s): Fetches rows from a specific Sheet and Range.
  • Google Sheets: Append Row: Adds a new row of data to the bottom of a sheet.
  • Google Sheets: Update Row: Updates an existing row based on a matching column value or row number.
  • Google Sheets: Clear Row(s): Clears data from specified rows.
  • Google Sheets: On Updated Row (Trigger): Triggers a workflow when a row is added or modified in a sheet.

Common Fields

  • Spreadsheet ID: The long ID found in the URL of your Google Sheet.
  • Sheet Name: The name of the specific tab (e.g., Sheet1).
  • Data (JSON): The payload to append or update, formatted as a JSON object mapping column headers to values.

3. Google Drive

What the node does

Manage files and folders in your Google Drive.

Sub-Nodes / Actions

  • Google Drive: Upload File: Uploads a file to a specific folder.
  • Google Drive: Download File: Retrieves a file's contents for use in downstream nodes.
  • Google Drive: List Files / Folders: Searches for files matching specific criteria.
  • Google Drive: Delete File: Moves a file to the trash.

Common Fields

  • File ID: The unique ID of the file.
  • Folder ID: The unique ID of the destination folder (found in the folder's URL).

4. Google Calendar

What the node does

Automate event creation and calendar management.

Sub-Nodes / Actions

  • Google Calendar: Create Event: Creates a new event. You can specify the Start Time, End Time, Summary, Description, and Attendees.
  • Google Calendar: List Events: Fetches upcoming events from a specific calendar.
  • Google Calendar: Update Event: Modifies an existing event.
  • Google Calendar: Delete Event: Removes an event.

Common Fields

  • Calendar ID: Usually your email address (for your primary calendar) or a specific Calendar ID found in the calendar's settings.
  • Event ID: The unique identifier for a specific event.

5. Google Docs

What the node does

Automate document creation and modification.

Sub-Nodes / Actions

  • Google Docs: Create Document: Creates a new, blank document.
  • Google Docs: Append Text: Adds text to the end of a document.
  • Google Docs: Replace Text: Finds and replaces specific text within a document (useful for filling out templates).
  • Google Docs: On Updated (Trigger): Triggers when a document's content changes.

Common Troubleshooting

  • Permission Denied / 403 Error: If using a Service Account, ensure you have opened the Google Sheet/Doc/Folder in your browser and explicitly shared it with the service account's email address (e.g., [email protected]).
  • API Not Enabled: If you are using your own Google Cloud Project credentials, you must explicitly enable the specific API (e.g., Google Sheets API) in the Google Cloud Console.
  • Spreadsheet ID vs URL: Make sure you are only extracting the ID from the URL. For example, in https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1BxiMVs0X/edit, the ID is 1BxiMVs0X.
