Automate Airtable records and bases
Airtable Integration
The Airtable integration allows you to programmatically manage records in your Airtable bases.
How to get credentials
Airtable requires a Personal Access Token. (Note: Standard API keys are deprecated).
- Log in to Airtable and go to the Developer Hub.
- Click Create token.
- Name your token.
- Add scopes:
data.records:readanddata.records:writeare usually sufficient for basic operations. - Add access: Select the specific bases or workspaces this token can access.
- Click Create token and copy the string.
- In Nodes2Cloud, create a new Airtable credential and paste this token.
1. Record Operations
Available Actions
- Record: Create: Creates a new record (row) in a specific table.
Options / Fields
- Base ID: The ID of the Airtable base, starting with
app(e.g.,appXXXXXX). You can find this in the API documentation for your base or in the URL. - Table Name / ID: The exact name of the table (e.g.,
Grid vieworTable 1) or its ID starting withtbl. - Fields (JSON): The data to insert. This should be a simple JSON object where keys are the column names and values are the cell data (e.g.,
{"Name": "John Doe", "Status": "Active"}).
Common Troubleshooting
- 404 Not Found: Ensure your Base ID and Table Name are exactly correct. Table Names are case-sensitive.
- 401 Unauthorized: Ensure your Personal Access Token includes the base you are trying to access in its "Access" list in the Developer Hub.
- 422 Unprocessable Entity: You are trying to insert data into a field that doesn't exist, or the data format is wrong for that column type (e.g., sending text to a linked record field). Make sure the JSON keys match the exact column names.
